Frederick, Colorado medical device company now works closely with Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital to help victims of strokes and other ailments. NuSling and Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital have entered into an agreement to work jointly on the development of soft goods products to improve the quality of life for patients with immobilized upper limbs. Under the agreement, NuSling will develop, design and provide customized devices for Spalding patients based on interaction with the patients and Spalding’s highly experienced staff. Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, www.spaldingrehab.com, offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs as well as a number of specialty clinical programs delivered by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Spalding's roots date back to 1914. In 1968 Spalding became the first facility licensed as a rehabilitation hospital by the State of Colorado. Twenty years later, Spalding became one of the first hospitals in the country to extend its services by opening a rehabilitation unit at Swedish Medical Center. This "hospital-within-a-hospital" concept proved so successful that similar units were eventually opened throughout the Denver-metro area and in Cheyenne, Wyoming. In 1995, Spalding became part of the Columbia Continental Division as its parent company, HealthONE, agreed to a joint venture with Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation, the nation's largest healthcare provider. As part of its mission to help individuals achieve maximum independence, Spalding works closely with the Brain Injury Association of Colorado. It was also one of the founders and continues to be an active supporter of the Rocky Mountain Stroke Association, serving stroke patients and their families. Spalding is accredited by The Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and CARF - The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission. Additionally, Spalding has the largest number of staff of any organization to achieve certification by The American Academy for the Certification of Brain Injury Specialists (AACBIS) which offers a voluntary national certification program for both entry-level staff and experienced professionals working in brain injury services. NuSling is dedicated to the re-thinking of outdated medical products and has introduced The NuSlingTM Arm Immobilizer, which packs an array of innovative features into a proprietary product design, providing a new level of style, unprecedented comfort, capability and convenience in arm slings. The unique, lightweight and ergonomic design combined with its revolutionary Magnetic Fastening System and Velcro® Fasteners makes NuSlingTM infinitely adjustable, even with one hand, virtually eliminating patient dependency on a second party. The magnetic version can be worn under a shirt with a magnetic arm cuff securing the injured limb. And, because of the ease of taking NuSlingTM off, it actually helps speed the recovery process. The price is comparable with conventional slings. More information on NuSlingTM is available at www.nusling.com or contact Ron Krenzel or Kevin Buckley at 303-833-2404. REINVENT YOUR RECOVERY! Colorado company introduces NuSling to help stroke victims and patients with upper limb injuries. If you are unfortunate to have an injury or a condition which requires the use of an arm sling, there is now some good news. This is thanks to the re-thinking of outdated medical products which is at the center of the founding of Medeon, LLC, a Frederick, Colorado company. NuSling packs an array of innovative features into a proprietary product design, providing a new level of style, comfort, capability and convenience in arm slings. The unique, lightweight and ergonomic design combined with its revolutionary Magnetic Fastening System and Velcro® Fasteners makes NuSling infinitely adjustable, even with one hand. Ron Krenzel, Managing Director, founder of Medeon and the holder of several patents, described his company's Vision as follows: "While there are many innovative, high-tech products in the Medical Industry that are very exciting, we feel there are many low tech and outmoded products that have not been addressed. That is where we see our market and where our corporate emphasis will be." NuSling is an ergonomic arm sling which results in much more comfort for the patient. Patient dependency on a second party is eliminated as NuSling can be put on with one hand. The magnetic version can be worn under a shirt with a magnetic arm cuff securing the injured limb. And, because of the ease of taking NuSling off, it actually helps speed the recovery process. The price is comparable with conventional slings. Kevin Buckley, Director of Sales and Business Development, offered this insight: "Think of a Matthew Brady photograph of a Union Soldier with a broken arm. Everything about that soldier- his uniform, his weapon, his footware- they have all been greatly improved upon over the years. However, the sling used in the Civil War is essentially unchanged to this very day. NuSling will change that." In addition to broken or sprained arms, NuSling enhances therapy compliance and can speed recovery for a broad range of patients requiring arm immobilization due to sports-related injuries or surgical procedures. In addition, NuSling creates new therapy opportunities in the treatment of strokes, in geriatrics and in independent, as well as assisted living situations. Medeon's Strategic Plan calls for sales in the Mountain Region initially to help to closely monitor patient recoveries. More information on NuSling is available at http://www.nusling.com. If you'd like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview with Ron Krenzel or Kevin Buckley, please call 303-833-2404. |
